Mr. Oliver died following a long illness at 10:00 p.m. Saturday, September 17, 2011at Princeton Health and Rehab Center. Morgan’s Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Jim Oliver was born February 1, 1923 in Lyon County to the late Clyde E. Oliver and Stella Jackson Oliver.
Jim was a retired farmer and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Rosie Brown; step mother, Virgie Jackson Oliver; two brothers, Robert and Wylie Oliver; one son-in-law, Richard Davis, Jr.; and two grandchildren, Gordon Mitchell and Robin Ann Oliver.
Survivors include his wife Barbara Stamps Oliver; three sons, James Oliver of Caldwell County, Tommy Oliver of Trigg County and Harold Oliver of Lyon County; two daughters, Lois Davis of Lyon County and Katherine Fulks of Lyon County; three step-sons, Tommy Stamps of Mayfield, Willie Stamps of Blythville, Ark. And Michael Stamps of Eddyvillle; one step-daughter, Ella Stamps of Benton; 17 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
