Trigg County’s school-best winning streak reached seven matches last week with wins over Hopkins County Central and Christian County. Prior to Tuesday’s game at Muhlenberg County (results unavailable at press time), the Lady Wildcats had already amassed a single-season school record 12 wins.

After a 4-0 junior varsity win Thursday, the varsity Lady ‘Cats topped Hopkins Central 5-0. Brittany Shafer recorded a hat trick, and Lauren Frazier and Shelby Cionko added a goal apiece. Hannah Futrell had three assists and Lanita Hughes had two. Goalkeeper Katie Davis recorded her ninth shutout of the season, and Frazier finished the week with 110 career goals.

“We didn’t start as strong as usual,” Trigg head coach Rachel Longley said. “Second half was a lot better. We began to work hard, look for passes out wide and played as a team.”
