To the Editor:

Recently, my husband and I were visiting Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tenn. While leaving the park, we met up with a nice couple from Virginia. I was wearing my Trigg County Ham Festival T-shirt and the woman asked, “Are you from Cadiz?” She was amazed at how clean our town was and how friendly everyone in the community was.

She commented on how nice the downtown shops were and how beautiful the flowers and flags looked that lined main street. She mentioned that they ate at Hot Diggity Dog while in town and said it was absolutely delicious. She said she and her husband loved looking at all of the pigs on Main Street and said that the Red Cross pig was their favorite.

She wanted to know what the pigs stood for. I explained to her about the Trigg County Ham Festival and how Trigg County is known for their country hams. They are making plans to come back to Trigg County next year for Ham Festival. Just by wearing my Ham Festival T-shirt, we got lovely comments on our town and the friendly people that live here.
