ARCHERY: Trigg archers among tops at world tourney

The Trigg County Arrowcats continued its string of high-level performances at last weekend’s 3rd Annual National Archery in the Schools World Tournament in Orlando, Fla.

Trigg’s top performance was turned in by Clay Stevens, who shot a score of 291 to win the sixth grade division, finish second in the elementary division and 13th overall among 621 male competitors. Trigg’s only other male shooter was Cole Holland, who shot 265 and finished 34th among seventh graders, 78th among middle schoolers and 213th among all males.

Kaila Cunningham was Trigg’s top female shooter with a score of 286 (with 19 tens), placing her second among seventh graders, fourth in middle school and 10th overall among 450 competitors. Behind her was Alexis Wiseman (286, 18 tens), who finished second among 11th graders and seventh in the high school division.
