The General Election will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 8, and Trigg County Clerk Wanda Thomas said that while she doesn’t think turnout will be as low as it was in the May Primary Election, it will probably still be fairly low compared to previous elections.

“There are no local races, but you would think there would be more turnout for the state races,” Thomas said.

As of the last count on Thursday, Sept. 15, there were 10,394 registered voters in the county – 6,560 of which are registered Democrats, 3,250 of which are registered Republicans. 584 registered voters chose not to register with either party.

The turnout for the primary was about 10.7 percent, and at that time there were 10,309 voters, although only 9,751 were eligible to vote in that race, and of those, only 1,047 voted, Thomas said at the time.
