To the Editor:

No, we do not need another tax. Enough already. I

I had to ask myself a couple of questions. What would the Tourist Commission do with $100,000? A scary thought.

Secondly, why would a tourist want to go to Cadiz, Kentucky? A nice small town, a nice place to live, but as a tourist, I would rather go to Washington, DC, the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone National Park or New Orleans. Cadiz has nothing to attract tourists unless you want to consider the Cracker Barrel at I-24. Oh yes, Ham Fest, held once a year; and perhaps antique stores, like this is the only town who has them.

The biggest attraction for this small area is the state park, and our state fails to spend the effort and money to promote Kentucky state parks. Now that would attract tourists.

Tourists do not have a lasting effect on the local economy. Your effort and dollars should be directed to attracting companies and entrepreneurs-one of our attractions-low taxes.
