CROSS COUNTRY: Trigg’s young runners win at Christian County meet

Trigg County’s elementary girls won first place at the Christian County Invitational cross country meet Saturday, and Trigg’s middle school boys took second.

Trigg’s elementary girls were led by Emma Staples (fourth, 14 minutes, 16.87 seconds), Ashlyn Hatfield (fifth, 14:30.99) and Anna Morgan (sixth, 14:48.05. Other Trigg runners were Libby Redd (ninth, 14:54.45), Hannah Colbert (14th, 15:27.53), Phelan Dossett (15th, 15:42.13), Bethany Morgan (19th, 16:25.77), Paige Dunn (21st, 16:57.67), Carlee Adams (27th, 18:15.13) and Mallorie Godair (28th, 18:59.13). Trigg’s elementary boys runners were Daniel Martin (sixth, 13:20.12), John Chinn (eighth, 13:24.34), Alex Skinner (10th, 13:29.29), Zac McIntosh (23rd, 14:56.43), Anthony Ethridge (32nd, 15:34.69) and Riley Stallons (40th, 17:39.80).

Ethan Dossett had the best middle school boys time for Trigg, taking fourth in 15:55.70. Following him were Sebastian Skinner (11th, 16:53.20), Caleb Martin (21st, 17:47.20), Reagan Hyde (23rd, 17:56.30), Luke Chinn (32nd, 18:55.50), Benson Stallons (34th, 19:05.30) and Austin Humphries (49th, 22:22.70). Trigg’s only girls middle school runner was Koryn Hatfield, who finished 17th in 19:29.20.
