CROSS COUNTRY: Trigg runners compete in KTCCCA Meet of Champions

Several runners from Trigg County competed Saturday in the Kentucky Track and Cross Country Coaches Association Meet of Champions at Masterson Station Park in Lexington. The event serves as state championship meets for elementary and middle school runners and also features races in other age groups.

Trigg’s middle school boys team finished 35th out of 50 teams in the event, which featured 435 runners. Leading Trigg was Ethan Dossett, who finished 76th with a time of 15 minutes, 33.68 seconds. Following him for Trigg were Sebastian Skinner (174th, 16:43.31), Reagan Hyde (236th, 17:25.60), Caleb Martin (303rd, 18:13.05), Luke Chinn (369th, 19:12.86), Benson Stallons (392nd, 20:04.88) and Austin Humphries (419th, 22:32.88).

Trigg’s only runner in the middle school girls state championship race was Koryn Hatfield, who finished with a time of 18:49.58, good for 173rd out of 320 runners.

Three Trigg runners competed in the sixth grade and under boys race. Out of 365 runners, Daniel Martin led Trigg (181st, 14:01.86), followed by John Chinn (286th, 15:42.80) and Riley Stallons (353rd, 18:56.08).
