Funeral services for Lonnie D. Morris, 88, of Hopkinsville were held Friday, November 11, 2011 at Goodwin Funeral Home in Cadiz. The Rev. Irvin Darnall officiated. Burial followed in the Green Hill Memorial Gardens in Hopkinsville. Goodwin Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Morris died of natural causes at 4:36 p.m. Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville.

He was born October 7, 1923 in Trigg County to the late Lonnie David Morris and Pansy Oakley Morris.

Lonnie was a carpenter and a United States Army Veteran having served in World War II.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Maxine Sigler Morris; and one sister, Mary Louise Morris.

Survivors include one son, Jerry “Moose” Morris of Hopkinsville; three grandchildren, Jay Morris, JP Morris and Justin Morris; and three great-grandchildren, Jessica Morris, Milynn Morris and Jayme Morris.

Pallbearers were Justin, JP and Jay Morris, Donald Bridges and David Johnson.
