Funeral service for Richard Wadlington, 74, of Cadiz, will be held Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at Goodwin Funeral Home in Cadiz. The Rev. Mark Thweatt will officiate. Burial will follow in the Wadlington Cemetery in Trigg County. Goodwin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Wadlington died of natural causes at 12.40 p.m. Sunday, November 20, 2011 at his residence.

He was born August 17, 1937 in Trigg County to the late John and Mary Wadlington.

Richard Wadlington was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, a retired plumber and he was involved with Relay for Life.

He was preceded in death by five brothers, Thomas, Bobby, Earl, Paul, and Ernest “Buck” Wadlington; and one sister, Sally Choate.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Wadlington of Cadiz; one sister, Lucille LaBonte of West Palm Beach, Fla.; one son, Richard Wadlington, Jr. of N.C.; one daughter, Kristine Wadlington of Cadiz; one step-son, Christopher Smith of West Palm Beach, Fla.; one step-daughter, Jeanne Smith of West Palm Beach, Fla.; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Active pallbearers are John Wadlington, Brain Wadlington, Jeff Kempf, Nicky Kempf, Danny Deloach, Evan Deloach and Cody Choate. Honorary pallbearers are Jerry Williams, Jimmy Williams and Don Herndon.
