WRESTLING: Trigg takes fifth at Hoptown, tops two teams at Ft. Campbell

The Trigg County High School wrestling team finished fifth in a 10-team tournament Saturday in Hopkinsville and topped Hoptown and Clarksville Academy on Thursday night at Fort Campbell.

Three TCHS wrestlers went undefeated Saturday – Jerimiah Kline (5-0), Tim Greer (5-0) and Aaron Stevens (3-0). Chris Briggs finished the day with a 4-1 record.

Thursday, the following Trigg wrestlers finished 3-0: Stevens, Kline, Briggs, Colton Livingston, and Elliott Boyd. Warren Jones finished 1-0, while Cody Whittington, Ryan Gallogly and Austin Durham finished 2-1; Greer, Luke Chinn, Daniel Ingram, Nathan Thomas and Malik Cunningham finished 1-1; and Matt Chinn, Austin Outlaw, Montgomery Smith and Garrett Brown finished 0-1.

Trigg defeated Clarksville 58-12 and Hoptown 48-24 and lost 38-37 to Fort Campbell.

“Our kids did a really great job,” said TCHS head coach Ralph Stevens. “We’ve seen where we made a few mistakes and will work on those this week. I was very proud of all my guys.”
