Pieces of a Chevrolet El Camino (above), were found in Cheatham and Robertson County, Tenn., earlier this year. Trigg County Sheriff Ray Burnam said a theft ring out of Cheatham County, was responsible for this and other thefts in Trigg County over this fall and winter.

Over the past couple of months, five people affiliated with a theft ring out of Ashland City, Tenn., have been arrested in connection with a series of thefts in the Linton and Roaring Springs communities.

Jonathan Hunter, 27, was the first one arrested, having been taken into custody on Thursday, Oct. 27, and Jeffery Dunn, 43, David Moon, 26, Rachel Pendleton, 26, were all arrested on Thursday, Nov. 17, and Marcus Oldham, 22, was arrested on Thursday, Dec. 15, said Lieutenant Dane Hughes of the Trigg County Sheriff’s Office.

All but Hunter are from Ashland City, Tenn., he added.

“They’re young, but as far as I can tell, they made their living by stealing,” Hughes said.

Starting in the summer, there were several thefts in the southern part of the county, especially in the Linton and Roaring Springs areas, and as a result, Trigg County Sheriff Ray Burnam met with community members to see what could be done about this.

Hughes said some of the suggestions that came out of that meeting included watching neighbors’ properties and calling in suspicious activities.
