Funeral services for Jastine Overby Curtis, 96, of Cadiz, were held Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at Goodwin Funeral Home in Cadiz. The Rev. Bob McIntosh officiated. Burial followed at the John Frye Stewart Cemetery in Trigg County. Goodwin Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Curtis died of natural causes at 8:20 p.m. Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at Trigg County Hospital in Cadiz.

She was born April 20, 1915 in Trigg County to the late John Henry and Odie Mae Futrell Overby.

Mrs. Curtis was a member of Rocky Ridge Baptist Church. She had worked at the International Shoe Factory as well as at Elk Brand Manufacturing. She was also a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Curtis; two brothers, John L. Overby and Glenn E. Overby; one daughter in infancy, Margaret Ann Curtis; and two sons, Gayle Curtis and John “Jack” Curtis; and one grandson, Scott Garland.

She is survived by one sister, Lillie P’Pool of Hopkinsville; two daughters, Bobbie Garland (and husband Harry) of Cadiz and Brenda Rivera (and husband Ralph) of Schereville, Tenn.; ten grandchildren, Harry Garland, Jr., Chris Eric Garland, Craig Kent Garland, Donald Curtis, Tod Curtis, Phillip Curtis, Patrick Curtis, Gregory Curtis, Rickki Brown and Samantha Warren;12 great-grandchildren, Melissa Peak, Kent and Lauren Garland, Bailey, Brittany, Ashley, Tiffany, Seth and Issac Curtis, Charlie, Nathan and Rickkia Ferguson.

Pallbearers were Harry Garland, Jr., Chris Garland, Craig Garland, Donald Curtis, Tod Curtis, Phillip Curtis, Patrick Curtis and Gregory Curtis.
