Trigg County’s Alyssa Maxey drives to the basket for two of her 20 points in the Lady Wildcats’ 60-44 win last Tuesday over Crittenden County.

The Trigg County Lady Wildcats will enter the 5th District Tournament as the No. 3 seed, but the Wildcats still have a shot at No. 1.

The Lady ‘Cats (8-6 overall, 2-3 in district) defeated Crittenden County 60-44 last Tuesday but lost 54-41 Friday at Lyon County. They’ll face the Lady Lyons – the district tourney hosts – again in one district semifinal, while top seed Livingston Central will face Crittenden. The Lady ‘Cats also lost Monday 66-52 at Union County.

Lady ‘Cats vs. Crittenden

Trigg trailed by two points briefly before dominating the rest of the game, never leading by less than seven after taking an 18-10 lead early in the second quarter.

Lady ‘Cats at Lyon

Trigg led 12-8 after the first quarter and 26-23 early in the third quarter, but Lyon went on a 31-15 run from there.

Lady ‘Cats at Union

Trigg survived a hot Union County start as the Bravettes hit 7 of 9 field goal attempts in the first quarter, but the Lady ‘Cats managed only one field goal in the second quarter and trailed by double digits the rest of the way.
