The current district map

John Tilley (D), state representative for the Eight District, will no longer represent Trigg County if the redistricting proposal that passed the Kentucky House of Representatives last week passes the State Senate and is then signed by Governor Steve Beshear.

The Kentucky House approved House Bill 1, which would reconfigure the 100 districts, Thursday by a vote of 63 – 34.

Under the proposed redistricted map, Trigg County would be split between the Fourth District, currently represented by Mike Cherry (D), and the Fifth District, currently represented by Melvin Henley (D).

Henley would represent most of Trigg County under the proposed plan. He would also represent all of Calloway County. The Eighth District, currently represented by Tilley, would include Hopkinsville and southern Christian County, including Oak Grove.
