Funeral services for Mary Dell Dyer, 96, of Cadiz, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at Goodwin Funeral Home in Cadiz, with visitation from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. The Revs. Don Bunch and Dr. Hilda Bentley will officiate. Burial will follow in the East End Cemetery in Cadiz. Goodwin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Dyer died of natural causes at 12:05 p.m. Monday, January 16, 2012 at Trigg County Hospital in Cadiz.

She was born February 12, 1915 in Trigg County to the late Henry and Mittie Goode Aldridge.

Mrs. Dyer was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church. She was the former owner and operator of Dyers Grocery from 1931-1951 in Cadiz.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1978, O.C. Dyer; five brothers, Lacy Aldridge, Lackey Aldridge, Roy Aldridge, Arce Aldridge and Clyde Aldridge; and two sisters, Birtha Wilson and Pansy Barnard.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews for whom she was a loving and devoted aunt, mentor and friend; and special friend, Nella Wilson of Cadiz.

Pallbearers are Lynn Wilson, Roy Wilson, John Bridges, Jeff Butson, Jackie Hyde and Earl Carr. Music provided by Sylvia P’Pool, pianist.
