Trigg County High School’s boys and girls basketball teams are each set for 5th District Tournament match-ups with tourney host Lyon County next month.

The Wildcats had a chance to force a coin flip for the district’s top seed but failed to capitalize, losing 75-71 Friday against Livingston Central. The Lady ‘Cats had already clinched the No. 3 seed before Friday’s 61-44 loss to the Lady Cardinals.

Both Livingston teams will be seeded first and face Crittenden County, which earned both No. 4 seeds. Trigg’s boys will be seeded second and the girls third, but both will face Lyon’s teams.

Trigg’s girls also lost Monday 53-45 at University Heights Academy, knocking the Lady ‘Cats out of the 2nd Region All ‘A’ Classic. The Wildcats were set to open All ‘A’ play Tuesday at Dawson Springs (results unavailable at press time).

Both Trigg teams also played last Tuesday, with the Wildcats topping Caldwell County 93-72 and the Lady ‘Cats defeating Dawson Springs 66-53.
