WRESTLING: Trigg wrestlers compete in middle school district, high school match at UHA

Trigg County Middle School’s wrestling team finished second in its group and fifth out of 14 teams overall Saturday in the district tournament held at Trigg’s high school gym.

Wrestling for Trigg were Jerimiah Kline, who finished first in his weight class; Devonte Turner, Malik Cunningham and Elliott Boyd, who each finished second; Colin Stevens, who finished fourth, and Caleb Haslett, who finished sixth. The top four in each weight class advance to this weekend’s regional tournament at Union County.

In high school action, Trigg went 2-1 Monday at University Heights Academy, defeating Creekwood 106-18 and Calloway County 42-40 while losing 42-24 to Christian County.

Wrestling for Trigg were Kline and Aaron Stevens, who each went 4-0; and Ryan Gallogly, Daniel Ingram, Jayven Jones, Colton Livingston and Tim Greer, who each went 2-1.

Trigg’s next high school match is Thursday at Calloway County.
