Funeral services for William Cecil Bush, 96, of Plano, Texas, formerly of Cadiz, were held Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at Goodwin Funeral Home in Cadiz. Dr. Bill Clark Thomas officiated. Burial followed in the East End Cemetery in Cadiz. Goodwin Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Bush died of natural causes at 11:59 a.m. Thursday, January 19, 2012 at Plano Medical Center in Plano, Texas.

William Bush was born March 15, 1915 in Trigg County to the late Alonzo Carlton and Mary Charlotte Givens Bush.

He was a member of Cadiz Baptist Church while a resident of Cadiz and currently a member of First Baptist Church in McKinney, Texas. He retired from Mead Johnson Pharmaceutical Company.

He was preceded in death by six brothers, Lexie Bush, Horace Bush, Carloss Bush, John Bush, Robert Bush and Travis Bush; and two sisters, Myrtle Adams and Martha Banister.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Jean E. Banister Bush of McKinney, Texas; two brothers, Kenneth Bush of Cadiz and Charles Bush of Frankfort; two daughters, Lina Gonterman (and husband Chet) and Kathy Lowry (and husband Andy) both of Plano, Texas; four grandchildren, Tim & Brian Gonterman and Todd and Jarret Lowry; and four great-grandchildren, Kyle and Paige Gonterman and Aiden and Nate Lowry.

Pallbearers were Tim Gonterman, Brian Gonterman, Todd Lowry, Jarret Lowry, Bill Bush and Bob Bush. Music was provided by Clay King, vocalist and pianist, and Rose Bush, pianist.
