Mrs. Underwood died Saturday, January 28, 2012.
She was born December 8, 1928 in Desloge to the late Katie Mae Brewen and Brown A. Hulsey.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Underwood; three sisters, Tessie Hulsey, Thelma Basler and Betty Mitchell; and six brothers, Andrew “Brownie” Hulsey, Jr., Herbert Hulsey, Hubert Hulsey, Willard Hulsey, Virgil Hulsey and Earl Husley.
She grew up in Gumbo, Mo. and lived her life on the farm until she moved to the city of St. Louis, where she met the love of her life, Robert E. Underwood. She worked beside her husband as an accountant. While living in St. Louis, she also volunteered in the Meals on Wheels program for several years. Faye enjoyed her morning coffee, long chats, CNN, playing gin, bible study and was a member of the Cadiz Christian Church Disciples of Christ. She was a daughter, sister, dear friend, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a Christian woman, and was known by many names- Mom, Momo, and Aunt Butchie to name a few.
Fae lived a long life of love, was a natural caregiver to all and will be missed by all those who knew and loved her, including her daughter, Denise Wenger of Cadiz; two sons, Robert E. Underwood Jr. of St. Louis, Mo. and Lawrence Underwood of Scottsdale, Ariz.; son-in-law, James Todd Eggers; two granddaughters, Rebecca Kelly and Taryn Underewood; two grandsons, Jason Underwood and Justin Underwood; grandson-in-law, Justin Kelly; and two great-grandsons, Tucker Lee Futrell and Nathaniel Lee Kelly; numerous nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
