Trigg County wrestlers had a busy week, wrestling last Tuesday at Stewart County, Tenn., Thursday during Senior Night at home and Saturday at a Calloway County tournament.

At Stewart, Trigg lost 72-24 against Kenwood and 48-18 against Cheatam County. Daniel Ingram, Ryan Gallogly and Aaron Stevens each finished 2-0, and Austin Durham finished 1-1.

Head coach Ralph Stevens said the team was missing six wrestlers that day – three middle schoolers preparing for this weekend’s state tournament, two to injury and one for disciplinary reasons.

Thursday, Trigg topped Hopkinsville 36-33 and lost 42-32 to University Heights Academy. Stevens and Tim Greer each finished 2-0 for Trigg.

Saturday, Trigg finished ninth at the Calloway tournament. Stevens finished first in the 195-pound weight class, while Ingram was second at 126, Greer second at 285, Malik Cunningham third at 126, Gallogly third at 138, Durham third at 160, Cody Whittington fourth at 126 and Warren Jones fifth at 152.
