Jonquils/Daffodils up at least 6 inches above the ground and it’s just February! The poor little things!

“Pam’s Picks” first up is a juvenile fiction book. Yes, I said juvenile fiction. This is also a book to movie title too. “War Horse” by Michael Morpurgo, this is the story of Joey. Joey is a war horse but he wasn’t always. First he was a farm horse, and then World War I came along. My Non-fiction Pick, “How Do You Pronounce Cadiz?” by Wanda Lisch, this is a wonderful book written by a resident of Trigg County. This book is a collection of short stories and a glimpse of our town.

New Fiction: “Death Benefit” by Robin Cook, this medical thriller combines two very interesting elements the biotech business and the Mob, add the multitrillion dollar life insurance industry and it all revolves around creating replacement organs for critically ill patients.

“77 Shadow Street” by Dean Koontz, this is the story of an 1800’s Gilded Age palace known as the Pendleton being re christened in the 1970’s as a luxury apartment building. The security cameras have impossible images, inexplicable shadows, phantom voices, and an elevator that plunges.

“D.C. Dead” by Stuart Woods, this is a Stone Barrington novel. Stone and NYPD detective Dino Bacchetti receive a most welcome invitation to the White House. It seems like the President need their help for a particularly sensitive case.

“Moonlight in the Morning” by Jude Deveraux, this is the first book in a new trilogy set in blissful Edilean, Virginia. This is the story of three young women, best friends since college and the lives, loves and dreams that await them. This is large print.

Non-fiction: “Codependent No More” and “Beyond Codependency” both by Melody Beattie.

New Biography: “Gabby” by Gabrielle Giffords & Mark Kelly, this is the story of courage and hope. Giffords resigned from her Congressional seat last week.

New Audio Books: “Murder Boogies with Elvis” by Anne George, “Murder Carries a Torch” by Anne George, and “Covert Warriors’ by W.E.B. Griffin.

New DVDs: “Scooby-Doo! Abracadabra-Doo,” “Pirates of the Caribbean on Stranger Tides,” and “Pillow Talk.”

Computer Classes for February: Basic Internet February 13 & 27, call 270-522-6301 to sign up.
