Trigg County Teen Court holds swearing-in ceremony

At a swearing-in ceremony held the evening of Thursday, Jan. 26, at the Trigg County Schools cafeteria, District Judge James Redd swore in the Trigg County High School students who are participating in the 2011/2012 Trigg County Teen Court.

Teen Court Coordinator Amy Breckel, who also coaches the Lady Wildcats basketball team, said there are 27 teen court programs across 33 Kentucky counties. A pamphlet on the program states, “Teen Court provides first-time juvenile offenders the opportunity to participate in a less formal court process carried out by their peers.”

The participants this year are Danielle Adams, Jessica Bostick, Ketoiah L. Byers, Melissa Cornett, David A. Cross, Stacey Eades, LaNita Hughes, Arron Lampley, Jakelze Martin, Alyssa Maxey, Johnathon McGee, Rayleigh Melton, Quinton Moore, Courtney Oliver, Sloane Peterson, Blake Rowe, Matthew Skinner, Jessica Stewart, Paxton Stroud, Christopher Sumner, Whitney Tannehill, William Wildes, Kristin Wright and Andrew Wyatt. Court Designated Worker Regenia Wilkerson-Jasper was also present.
