February is a month of several special days: Ground Hog’s Day, Super Bowl Sunday, (many consider this a holiday) Lincoln’s Birthday, Valentine’s Day, Washington’s Birthday, and this year we have Leap Year Day.

Plus it’s American Heart Month, Black History Month and Book Lover’s Month: the library has books for each of these days but we wish to focus on Black History month and “Pam’s Pick” this week is Bill Cosby. “I Didn’t Ask to be Born: But I’m Glad I Was” by Bill Cosby, in this is a new collection of observations Cosby brings us more of his wacky and wonderful insights.

New Fiction: “Prince of Ravenscar” by Catherine Coulter, this is a Sherbrooks novel. This is a romance that will make you believe in everlasting love and knights in shining armor.

“Taken” by Robert Crais, Joe Pike and Elvis Cole are back to help find a missing girl and her boyfriend. But when Cole also disappears the situation changes.

“Devil’s Elixir” by Raymond Khoury, the story of a lost herb that could change western civilization. FBI agent Sean Reilly and his girlfriend, archaeologist Tess Chaykin, take a trip that reaches from present day back to 1700s Mexico-and possibly beyond.

“The Fire” by James Patterson, this is book three in the Witch & Wizard series. Whit and Wisty have sacrificed everything to lead the Resistance against the totalitarian regime.

And on a little lighter side…

“Love in a Nutshell” by Janet Evanovich & Dorien Kelly, this is a romantic suspense novel. Kate has lost her job and her husband, and the only thing she wants to do is open a B&B in her parent’s summer house. But she needs cash and a job. The only job she can find is less than savory. But she will make the needed cash for her B&B. Can she spy on people and what will she learn when she does?

New Non-fiction: “3rd Alternative” by Stephen R. Covey, this book will help solve most difficult problems.

“Spontaneous Happiness” by Andrew Weil, M.D., everyone wants to be happy, but what does that really mean? This book will help answer that question.

“Robert’s Rules of Order” this is a newly revised version of an old classic.

New Audio Books: “Prey” by Linda Howard, and “Texas Empire” by Matt Braun.

New CDs: “Own the Night” by Lady Antebellum, and “The Incredible Machine” by Sugarland.

New DVDs: “Soul Surfer,” “The Maltese Falcon,” “Water for Elephants.”

New Display: This month the display case is full of Head Vases and Cameo Girls. Some of the vases are Elvis and Lucy. I think my favorite is Elvis. He is the only male vase in the bunch.

Computer Classes for February: Basic Internet Feb. 13 and 27, call 270-522-6301 to sign up.

Tax Season is here! RSVP will be back again doing FREE Tax Preparations, on Tuesday and Thursday until April 17. Call the library for an appointment 270-522-6301. Happy Reading!
