Dwight Wisdom, the Princeton man charged in the shooting death of a Cadiz resident at a Dec. 4 party, plead not guilty in Trigg County Circuit Court last Wednesday afternoon.

Wisdom, 19, appeared in court with Paducah-based attorney Will Kautz, who told Circuit Judge C. A. Woodall III that he will no longer be representing Wisdom. Kautz said it he is stepping down because Wisdom’s family can no longer afford to pay him.

Kautz further explained that he had not been “retained” to represent Wisdom beyond the Trigg District Court proceedings. The case was moved from District Court to Circuit Court after Wisdom was formally indicted earlier this year.

Wisdom’s next court date in Circuit Court will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, March 14, where the bond, currently held at $500,000, will be discussed. He will be issued a public defender out of Hopkinsville between now and then.
