Justin McGill/Cadiz Record
Trigg County’s Deonquez Nance scores two of his game-high 30 points during the Wildcats’ 73-71 win Friday at Caldwell County.
In a five-minute stretch, Trigg County went from down by 18 points to ahead by one en route to a 73-71 win Friday at Caldwell County.

The Wildcats (21-6) also defeated Dawson Springs last week, topping the Panthers 83-48 last Tuesday.

Trigg led briefly in the first quarter, taking a 12-10 advantage on a basket by David Wease. The Tigers then closed the quarter on a 15-3 run and, after a three-pointer by Hayden Stewart early in the second quarter, led by double figures through the rest of the first half.

Caldwell matched its largest lead of the game at 52-36 after another three-pointer by Stewart with about two minutes left in the third quarter. That’s when Trigg’s run began. Kickstarted by a Dee Murphy three-pointer, the ‘Cats scored 17 consecutive points to pull within a point.

The teams traded points in threes on the next four possessions – a three-point play by Elijah Sindelar and a three-pointer by Luke McCarty for Caldwell and a pair of shots from deep by Deonquez Nance for Trigg.
