BASKETBALL: Lady ‘Cats enter final week on 6-game skid

Trigg County’s struggles continued last week as the Lady Wildcats lost 62-44 Friday at Caldwell County and 59-32 Saturday against Mayfield.

Lady ‘Cats @ Caldwell County

Trigg (10-14) trailed by 12 in the first quarter and pulled within one in the second, but Caldwell extended its lead to 10 in the third quarter and dominated the fourth.

Khadijah Grubbs scored a game-high 20 points for Trigg, and Le’Onzerrae Grubbs recorded a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds.

Lady ‘Cats vs. Mayfield

Playing without leading scorer Khadijah Grubbs, Trigg struggled on offense after trailing the first quarter by only one point. Mayfield outscored the Lady ‘Cats 37-18 in the second half.

Alyssa Maxey was the only Trigg player to score in double figures, leading the team with 16.

Trigg hosted Todd County Central on Tuesday (results unavailable at press time) and will end its regular season Friday at Fort Campbell. The 5th District Tournament is next week.
