Funeral services for Betty Sue Guier, 74, of Cadiz, were held Friday, February 17, 2012 at King’s Funeral Home in Cadiz. The Revs. Paxton Redd and Hal Shipley officiated. Burial followed in the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. King’s Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Betty Sue died of natural causes at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at Trigg County Hospital in Cadiz.

She was born March 22, 1937 in Dycusburg to the late Thomas Green and Mae Henry Green.

Betty Sue was an active member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church Relay For Life Team. She was a homemaker and a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Pink Harrell “Tiny” Guier, Jr.; four brothers, Duke, Jay, Luther and Oscar Green; and one sister, Joann Chaney.

She is survived by three brothers, Ronnie Green of Dycusburg, Don Green of Mayfield and Kerry Green of Dycusburg; two sisters, Ginny Brown of Eddyville and Nancy Rideout of St. Louis, Mo.; one son Pink Harrell Guier, III, of Cadiz; two daughters, Faye Stevens (and husband Bill) of Cadiz and Kaye Stewart (and husband Ross) of Cadiz; and four grandchildren, Devin Stewart of Murray, Shelby Stevens of Murray, Kelsey Stewart of Cadiz and Clay Stevens of Cadiz.

Pallbearers were Scotty Hampton, Hugh Roberts, Jr., Jim Tribble, Joe Oakley, Chris Green, Russ Guier, Devin Stewart and Clay Stevens. Honorary pallbearers were Oak Grove Baptist Church Fellowship Class, Pauline Crump, Betty Stevens, Nell Vinson and Lillie Maye Cunningham.

Music was provided by Jan Oakley, pianist; Mark Harris, vocalist; and Faye Stevens and Kaye Stewart, vocalists.
