Trigg FFA’s Livestock Club placed in State Contest Feb. 18

The Trigg County 4-H Livestock Club competed in the State Skillathon Contest this Saturday, Feb. 18, in Madisonville and did wonderfully.

The clover team of Daniel Martin, Katie Wadlington and Nathan Gray received 9th place overall. They also were 2nd in Evaluation (which is judging meats and hay).

Daniel Martin received the following individual awards:

5th in Evaluation (judging meats and hay)

1st in Quality Assurance and the Quiz (general knowledge questions)

12th overall individual with over 90 contestants in the 9-11 age category.

The intermediate team of Katie Walker, Taylor Gray, Caleb Martin and Maylee Frye received 1st place overall beating the second place team by over 150 points. They were 1st in breed, meat and equipment identification. They were 1st in Evaluation (which is judging meat and hay). They were 2nd in Quality Assurance and the Quiz (general knowledge questions).
