The Revs. Paul Cannon and Bob Hayes officiated. Burial followed at Cumberland Cemetery in Land Between the Lakes. Goodwin Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Snyder died of natural causes at 5:35 p.m. Thursday, March 1, 2012 at his residence. Nelson was born January 19, 1933 in Golden Pond to the late Ray Nelson Snyder and Ima Dell Cossey Snyder Thompson.
He was of the Baptist faith. Nelson was a United States Army veteran serving in the Korean Conflict. He retired as an inspector and was a member of Cadiz Masonic Lodge No. 121.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Don Eugene Snyder; and one daughter, Jami Relinski.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Snyder of Cadiz; one step-brother, Roy Thompson of Cadiz; one son, Dale Snyder (and wife Diane) of Beaver Dam; one step daughter, Kathy Ovey (and husband G.L.) of Eddyville; seven grandchildren, Christopher and Stephanie Snyder, Michael Snyder, Amanda and William Oliver, Ashley Relinsky and Lindsey Relinsky; three step-grandchildren, Nicole Patton, Megan Sholar and Collin Murphy; six great-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.
