Saturday, David Wease led the ‘Cats with a solid day on the mound, pitching four innings and allowing only one hit. Hunter Allen, Zach Snodgrass and Corbin Estes each recorded a pair of hits. One of Allen’s was a triple. He drove in three runs, and Snodgrass also had an RBI.
Monday, Trigg’s bats struggled. The ‘Cats didn’t score a run until the seventh inning, and by then, Muhlenberg had done its damage for the day. Zack Bridges earned the loss, allowing two earned runs in four innings on the mound. Nick Allen drove in Trigg’s only run.
Trigg head coach Tim Bush said Muhlenberg took advantage of four walks and four Wildcat defensive errors, including a pair of misplayed fly balls in the outfield and a missed double-play opportunity.
The ‘Cats were originally scheduled to host Mayfield on Tuesday, but that game has been moved to Thursday, setting Trigg up for home games on three consecutive days. Trigg will host Union County on Friday and Paducah Tilghman on Saturday before playing at Christian County on Monday and hosting Muhlenberg on Tuesday.
