Burial followed in the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Trigg County. Goodwin Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Flood died Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at Trigg County Hospital in Cadiz.
He attended Oak Grove Baptist Church and Canton Baptist Church. He was a farmer and former member of the ASCS Community board and was a member of the Woodmen of the World.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Robert Flood; mother, Mary Thomas Flood; and step-mother, Gertrude Hughes Flood.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Hattie Mae Flood of Cadiz; one brother, William Robert “Robbie” Flood of Cadiz; three sons, James Flood (and wife Paula) of Cadiz, Stan Flood (and wife Pam) of Cadiz and Gilbert Flood also of Cadiz; one granddaughter, Ashley Kingston (and husband Nick); and one great-grandchild, Kalin Grace Kingston.
Pallbearers were Lewis Sumner, Nick Kingston, Frankie Phillips, Hollis Alexander, Donnie McCraw and Hugh Roberts, Jr. Serving as honorary pallbearers were Jimmy Allen, Jim Boren, Fred Montgomery, Jim Bayes, Dan Turner, Mack Cunningham, Ned Davis, Andrew Thomas, Tom Vinson, Carl Bridges and Raybon Crump, Jr.
Music was provided by the Canton Baptist Church Choir with Myra Montgomery as pianist.
