Funeral services for Bobby G. Thomas, 80, of Cadiz, were held Saturday, March 24, 2012, at Goodwin Funeral Home in Cadiz. The Rev. Ronnie Hooks officiated. Burial followed in Trigg Memory Acres in Cadiz. Goodwin Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Thomas died of natural causes at 10:35 a.m. Tuesday, March 20, 2012, at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, Tenn.

He was born July 31, 1931, in Trigg county to the late Preston H. and Mary Bridges Thomas.

Mr. Thomas was a retired civil service employee, retired from Ft. Campbell with 30 years of service. He was a member Maple Grove Baptist Church and was a United States Air Force veteran having served in the Korean War.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Harry Thomas, Buster James Thomas and Michael Thomas; and one daughter, Darla Jean Thomas.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Eunice Boyd Thomas; one sister, Nina Alderson (and husband Frank) of Cadiz; one daughter, Pam Metts (and husband Ralph) of Cadiz; one sister-in-law, Inga Thomas of Cadiz; two grandchildren, Preston Metts of Owensboro and Brittney Metts of Lexington.

Serving as pallbearers were Mike Thomas, Brian Thomas, Wayne Thomas, Preston Metts, Frank Alderson, Jr. and Terry Alderson. Honorary pallbearers were Meagan Finley, Brittney Metts, Kathy Houseman, Susan Jayne and Tammy Thomas.

Music was provided by Steve Darnall, pianist, and the Rev. Roy Marquess, Jr., vocalist.
