He tied for the best cumulative score of 47 points and earned the belt through the tiebreaker by having the fastest pin.
Aaron Stevens finished third in the Cadet 195-pound division.
“He wrestled matches against a guy that placed third at 195 at state and lost 12-6, and a guy that placed fourth at 220 and lost 8-5,” said Ralph Stevens, Colin and Aaron’s father and Trigg County High School’s wrestling coach.
The Gable Belt series consists of three events, with the top four wrestlers in each division receiving points.
Trigg’s youth program hosted approximately 250 wrestlers Saturday at Wildcat Gym.
