The Revs. Randall Evans and Alan Hutchison officiated. Burial followed in the Freeman Cemetery in Trigg County. Goodwin Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Freeman died of natural causes at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2012, at Jennie Stuart Hospital in Hopkinsville.
He was born July 3, 1931 in Trigg County to the late Samuel Thomas and Ora Pearl Armstrong Freeman.
Charles Freeman was a member of the Cadiz Church of Christ where he served as an elder and treasurer. He was a United States Army veteran serving in the Korean Conflict. Mr. Freeman retired as the owner and operator of Freeman Electric and Plumbing. He was also a farmer.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Thomas Earl Freeman.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Thelma Futrell Freeman of Cadiz; two brothers, Douglas Freeman of Cadiz and Ewing Freeman of Cadiz; one sister, Geneva Wilson of Cadiz; two daughters, Debra Long (and husband Ken) of Whites Creek, Tenn. and Cathy Freeman of Joelton, Tenn.; and one grandson, Cayce Long.
Pallbearers were Cayce Long, Randal Freeman, Donnie Freeman, Mike Futrell, Dr. David Freeman and Dr. Todd Freeman. Honorary pallbearers were Thomas Wilson, Michael Wilson, Ricky Futrell, Sean Futrell, Don Hutchison, Scott Futrell, Eric Futrell, Brent Futrell and Jimmy Berkley.
