Funeral services for Ricky Sholar, 53, of Cadiz, were held Sunday, April 1, 2012, at Goodwin Funeral Home in Cadiz. The Rev. Bob McIntosh officiated. Burial followed in the Cerulean Cemetery in Cerulean. Goodwin Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Sholar died of natural causes at 1:50 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, 2012.

He was born August 16, 1958, in Trigg County to the late Hugh Hayden and Opal Elizabeth Francis Sholar.

Ricky was of he Baptist faith. He was a farmer and a member of the National Rifle Association.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Lisa Dawn Sholar, Penny Diane Herbert and Carolyn Jean Sholar; one nephew, Jason Sholar; and two nieces, Marsha Sholar and Missy Herndon.

He is survived by three brothers, Wallace Sholar (and wife Linda) of New Concord, Wayne Sholar (and wife Ginny) of Cadiz and Danny Sholar (and wife Lisa) of Cadiz; two sisters, Donna Skinner (and husband Johnny) of Cadiz and Debbie Burcham (and husband Ronald) of Cadiz; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Shannon Burcham, Derek Burcham, Mike Sholar, Jon Skinner, David Sholar, Ean Sholar, Devon Herndon and Kenny Sholar.
