Martin finished second in the event Saturday at the 16th Annual Invitational of the South at Marshall County (jumping 43 feet, 7.5 inches) after winning it Thursday at Muhlenberg County (42-10.5) and last Tuesday at Murray (44-2.5). Leading Martin in the state rankings is 1st Region foe J.B. Harmon of Paducah Tilghman.
At Marshall County, Trigg’s boys finished seventh out of 19 teams, while the girls took 15th out of 17.
In girls events, Trigg’s points were earned by the 4x100-meter relay team, which finished seventh with a time of 55.25 seconds, and the 4x200-meter team, which finished sixth in 1:59.36.
Martin led Trigg’s boys points-earners with his triple jump performance, a second-place finish in the high jump at 6 feet and a fourth-place finish in the 400-meter run in :53.83. Points were also earned by Jayven Jones (fifth in long jump, 19.25), Devonte Nance (seventh in 100-meter dash, :11.88), the 4x100-meter relay team (sixth, :46.54) and the 4x200-meter team (sixth, 1:37.28).
