Yellow forsythia, Redbuds, Dogwoods, these are all welcome signs of Spring…and we welcome new books.

“Pam’s Pick” this week is a woman who has ruled as Queen, in war and peace for 60 years, Queen Elizabeth II. Her ascension to the throne was in 1952 at the age of 25. This biography is a deeply human portrait of the remarkable Elizabeth II. “Elizabeth the Queen” by Sally Bedell Smith, this is the biography of a modern Monarch.

New Fiction: “Believing the Lie” by Elizabeth George, this is an Inspector Lynley novel. Was it an accident or was it murder? The Inspector with the help of his friends, Simon and Deborah is sent undercover. They find a conspiracy that reaches from Wall Street to deep into the walls of government.

“Secrets of the Lost Summer” by Carla Neggers, this is a contemporary romance with a heartwarming tale of riches lost and found. Olivia Frost is transforming a historic home into an idyllic getaway. But what about the ramshackle house next door?

“The Jaguar” by T. Jefferson Parker, this is a stunning crime thriller featuring Charlie Hood. A beautiful songwriter married to a crooked Sheriff is kidnapped. She is ordered to compose a unique folk ballad that records the exploits of drug dealers. Can Charlie rescue her?
