BASEBALL: TCMS leads Clarksville league

Trigg County Middle School’s baseball team maintained its standing at the top of a Clarksville, Tenn. league with an 8-1 win Saturday over Clarksville Northeast.

Trigg was led at the plate by Tyler Estes with two singles, Drake Oliver with a triple and a single, Matthew Skinner with two singles and Tyler Allen and Luke Carneyhan, each with one single.

On the mound, Allen pitched five innings, allowing three hits, five walks and striking out 11.

Last Tuesday, Trigg defeated Lyon County 14-3 in Eddyville.

Estes led the way at the plate with a pair of hits, including an inside-the-park grand slam. He finished with five runs batted in. Skinner added two hits, and Oliver, Benson Stallons and Will Allen each had a hit.

Trigg returns to action Friday at Central and will host Rossview on Saturday and West Creek on Monday.
