The Wildcats moved on to face another 5th District foe, Crittenden County, on Tuesday (results unavailable at press time). The winner of that game will play the winner between Caldwell County and University Heights Academy in the region championship round Thursday, with the champion to face 3rd Region champ Hancock County, likely on Saturday.
Against the Lyons, Trigg rode a two-inning shutdown performance by pitcher Zack Bridges, who was also a leader at the plate, scoring two runs and smacking a two-run triple in a nine-run second inning. Trace Kuberski and Nick Allen also drove in two runs each.
Trigg is set to play three district games within the next week – Friday against Crittenden and Monday against Livingston Central before traveling back to Lyon County on Tuesday.
