To the Editor:

We recently had Helping Hands move into a church building on our street. They removed the two trees in the front and chopped the steps off the front porch. Then they left it that way. It has a ramp on the side of the building and they barred the front doors on the inside. That is a clear problem for the fire code since it only leaves them the one exit. They turned a really nice church building into an nasty eyesore, but I guess they think they can do anything they want, can’t they? Are you going to print this, or are you kissing their butts, too?

Where does the $100,000+ a year in donations go? I have been watching, and it doesn’t add up. Seems like their board isn’t hurting financially, even in this economy.

One thing that stills sticks in my mind; when we were complaining about the fact that they were parking up and down the street and causing traffic problems, they said, and I quote, “if any of our customers park in front of your houses, we will cut them off from aid.” Now think about it. Does that sound like someone who worries about people who need aid? To cut them off for parking in the wrong place? Wake up people. Someone is peeing on your head and telling you it’s raining.
