Midway through the 2012 season, Trigg County High School’s softball team has a record of 2-11 and has yet to win a 5th District game.

Trigg was scheduled to have two chances to change those records Tuesday in a doubleheader at Lyon County (results unavailable at press time).

Monday, the Lady ‘Cats struggled in a 14-0 loss against Livingston Central, managing only two hits.

Friday, Trigg got off to a good start at Crittenden County, scoring two runs in the top of the first, but Crittenden scored 10 runs in the second inning. Trigg added two more to start the third but couldn’t keep up with the Lady Rockets and lost 19-4.

Trigg was led at the plate by Alison Russell, who went 2-for-2 with a double and three runs batted in. Reagan Melton also drove a run in, while Alexa Agosto, Arianna Brown, Sierra Bush and Brittany Hallgren each had a hit and a run scored.
