TRACK AND FIELD: Martin wins triple jump at Muhlenberg

Trigg County’s Jakelze Martin continued his strong run in the triple jump Saturday at the Muhlenberg County Mustang Stampede track and field event.

Martin won the event with an effort of 41 feet, 7 inches and also placed second in the high jump (5-6) and third in the long jump (19-9).

Other Trigg boys results were as follows:

– 800-meter run: Romaine Cunningham, seventh, 2:16.89; Austin Pugh, 17th, 2:31.41;

– 1600-meter run: Pugh, 17th, 5:30.1; Matthew Chinn, 20th, 5:37.7;

– 4x200-meter relay: sixth, 1:39.6;

– pole vault: Chinn, third, 8-6;

– long jump: Jayven Jones, fifth, 19-3;

– triple jump: Jones, third, 39-2;

– shot put: Jones, ninth, 33-8;  Tim Greer, 16th, 32-8;

– discus: Zach Johnson, 11th, 92-11.
