Funeral services for William E. “Bill” McCool, 71, of Cadiz, formerly of Evansville, Ind., were held on Friday, April 20, 2012, at Alexander Newburgh Chapel in Newburgh, Ind. Pastor Mike Claypool officiated. Burial followed in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Evansville.

William McCool died on Monday, April 16, 2012, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital.

He was born on March 8, 1941, in Evansville, Ind. He served in the Marine Corps Reserve and retired after 31 years of executive management in the insurance industry. He retired to Lake Barkley where he was an avid boater. Bill enjoyed cooking and woodworking. He also enjoyed spending summers with his daughter and grandchildren in Maine.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Susan McCool, six months ago in Brunswick, Maine.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Judie Horstketter McCool of Cadiz; two sisters, Martha Lou Koup of Indianapolis, Ind. and Mary Seibert (and husband Bob) of Evansville, Ind.; one son, Michael McCool (and wife Lisa) of Newburgh, Ind; grandchildren, Jason and Lindsey Miller, Sam, Max and Lillian McCool; great-grandchildren, Bella and Kayden Mayo; and many nieces and nephews. Bill was loved and will be missed by a lifetime accumulation of close family and friends.
