To the Editor:

On behalf of the Pennyrile Allied Community Services/Retired and Senior Volunteer Program, I am extremely humbled and grateful to so many people and organizations that helped make this year’s Taster’s Choice Meal such a success. We sold all 200 of our tickets and the evening’s highlight was the wonderful food that was provided by local vendors and the community for supporting us.

Due to federal funding losses, RSVP has had to find additional ways to help fund our retired and senior volunteer programs. Our goal is to continue providing vibrant seniors who volunteer in so many areas of the community. The success of the Taster’s Meal event will help us in reaching this goal.

Thanks to the following vendors for providing absolutely delicious (and substantial) tastings: Applebee’s, Blissful Cupcakes, DaVinci’s, El Bracero, Elizabeth’s Peace of Cake, Godfather’s Pizza,Hancock’s Catering, Jack McGee’s Catering, Jock Bingham’s Catering, The Place, Shoney’s, Starbucks, and Wallonia Café, Tupperware, Senior Medicare Patrol, and Mary Kay.

Thanks to those who helped us get the word out, including The Cadiz Record, WKDZ Radio, The Chamber of Commerce, Trigg County RSVP Advisory Committee, Trigg County Churches, Brenda Southwick, Misty Hardin of Heritage Bank, Cadiz and Hopkinsville Rotary Club, Amy Allen and David Shore. Thanks to the Trigg County Schools for allowing us to use the cafeteria for our event and to the staff who assisted us.

When you have a chance, please support all of the people and businesses who participated in making the Taster’s Choice Meal a success. Trigg County is an awesome community and it’s all of you who make it that way.
