Starting back in the 1980’s, basketball day camp at the high school gym became a staple on the calendar of many a Trigg County youth.

Coaches Ray Maggard and George Radford were probably the first to really invest a lot of time and effort into basketball day camp. Nearly all of the Trigg County basketball stars of the 80’s and 90’s came up through the station drills of a Wildcat Camp.

During my tenure as Head Coach I have kept camp going for most of the 90’s and 2000’s with a few exceptions. Last year for example, we got out of school so late in June that we left a couple of days later for our varsity team camps. Therefore day camp had to be cancelled. Well basketball day camp is back.

The Wildcat and Lady Wildcats High School coaching staffs will run this year’s camp. The information is as follows:

Dates: May 23 - 25

Times: K - 3rd grade 8 - 10 a.m.

4th – 6th grades 10 a.m. - 12 noon

Location: High School Gym

Costs: $25 (proceeds go to boys and girls basketball programs)

**Each player will receive a camp t-shirt and participation trophy

**Contest trophies will also be awarded.

**Forms will be available at the Elementary and Middle School offices by Monday May 7th.
