Funeral services for John L. “Buster” Kennedy, 74, of Cadiz, were held on Sunday, May 6, 2012, at King’s Funeral Home in Cadiz. The Revs. Don Mock and Harold Greenfield officiated. Burial followed in the Blue Spring Cemetery with military honors.

King’s Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Kennedy died following a long illness at 3:16 a.m. on Friday May 4, 2012, at Baptist Hospital in Paducah.

He was born on Jan. 23, 1938, in Trigg County to the late Lewis Lander Kennedy and Arizona Camplin Kennedy.

He was a member of the Wallonia Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, discipleship training teacher, and had 46 years of devoted service and perfect attendance in Sunday School. John was a retired farmer and a United States Army veteran and Kentucky Colonel.

He is survived by one brother, Edward Kennedy (and wife Doris) of Cadiz; one sister, June Kennedy of Cadiz; one nephew, Sonny Kennedy (and wife Melissa) of Cadiz; and two great-nieces, Audra Baker and Arizona Kennedy both of Cadiz.

Pallbearers were Todd King, Joe Stewart, Lacy Bush, Lewis McCormick, Donnie Keller, Ronnie Keller, Roger Boyd, Jr., and Bill Roberts. Music was provided by John Mitchell, vocalist and Clarissa King, pianist.
