TRACK AND FIELD: Track wraps regular season, preps for region, state

Trigg County High School’s track team prepared for the regional championship by competing in meets in Marshall County and Murray last week.

Heading into this Saturday’s Class AA 1st Region meet at Paducah Tilghman High School, Trigg took part in the Area 1 Championships at Marshall County last Tuesday and wrapped up the regular season Saturday at Murray High School’s Jimmy Harrell Relays.

Trigg’s girls placed 15th at Marshall, with results including the following:

– 100-meter dash: Brittany Shafer, 20th, :14.15; Monica Jones, 21st, :14.16;

– 800-meter run: Hannah Futrell, 10th, 2:50.42; Samantha Harper, 15th, 2:59.48;

– 1600-meter run: Hope Chinn, 21st, 7:00.03;

– 100-meter hurdles: Aubree Burcham, 14th, :21.7;

– 4x100-meter relay: fifth, :53.95;

– 4x200-meter relay: seventh, 1:56.43;

– high jump: Lanita Hughes, 11th, 4-6;

– long jump: Shelby Grubbs, 13th, 14-0.75; Shannon Mack, 18th, 13-3.25;

– triple jump: Burcham, 22nd, 22-6.5;

– shot put: Emilee Hendricks, 15th, 25 feet; Kaitlyn Rakowski, 17th, 24-7.5;

– discus: Rakowski, 14th, 61-1.
