Mr. Cunningham died of natural causes at 4:55 p.m. on Thursday, May 10, 2012, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville.
He was born on Dec. 15, 1941, in Trigg County to the late S. E. Cunningham, Jr. and Elloweze Marcum Cunningham.
He was a member of the Second Baptist Church.
Mr. Cunningham worked as a carpenter.
He was preceded in death by two cousins, Deryl and Clinton.
He is survived by one sister, Carolyn Cunningham of Baltimore, Md.; two sons, Reggie Cunningham (and wife Shivon) of Cadiz, and Lynn Rae Acree of Columbus, Ohio; three daughters, Traci Canady of Hopkinsville, Sonja Ladd of Cadiz and Carletta Cunningham of Atlanta, Ga.;15 grandchildren, Reggie Cavanaugh, Devonta Turner and Bianca Cunningham of Cadiz, Malik Cunningham of Louisville, Allerra Acree and Bellanca Acree of Columbus, Ohio, Jasmine Bridgett of Dumfries, Va., Quan Vinson of Cadiz, C. J. Hudson and Paul Hudson of Louisville, Whitney Williams of Hopkinsville, Kelonna Ladd of Clarksville, Tenn., Jalin Ladd and Emily Hopson of Cadiz, Kevin Calahan, Jr. of Atlanta, Ga.: seven great-grandchildren; 13 cousins, Morris, Erlene, Kathleen, Ruth Marie, Judy, Phyliss S., Cheryl, Maurice, Henry Smith, Shirley Jr., Shirley Mae, Tony and Phyllis L.; two nieces, Sonya and Valorie; three nephews, Ronald P., Mario and Ronald K.; seven great nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Ronnie Dillard, Dan Thompson, Arthur Malone, Sam Love, Spencer Acree and Victor Acree. Honorary pallbearers were Jack Bridges, Elliot Robertson, Donald Earl Landers, George Crump, Frank Hendrix, Phillip Ladd and Ernest Baker. Flowerbearers were Naomi Birl, Jeri Ann Anderson, Hilda Crump, Mary Grubbs, Irene Maxey and Teresa Childs.
