The Trigg County Board of Education, at its meeting Thursday night, voted 4 – 0 to approve a 1-percent salary increase for certified and classified personnel for the 2012/2013 fiscal year. Board Member LaVern Baker was absent. The Cost of Living increase affects all paid positions safe for the Extended School Services (ESS) and Professional Development.
Trigg County School Superintendent Travis Hamby said they were sticking with a 187-day contract when some of districts were cutting back to 185-day contracts.
“I’m excited that we are able to do this,” said Hamby. “I think you’re going to find that a lot of districts are not able to do any kind of salary increase this year. We wish it could be more … but I do believe this is best we can do right now.”
The principals of the Middle, Intermediate and Primary Schools will have a salary of $83,751. The Vocational Principal/Director of Operations will have a salary of $78,187. The High School Principal will have a salary of $88,821. All principals are on 240-day contracts.
